Made for ages 4–8, leveled in minutes

There's no placement test. Sumtown starts with small sums, watches how quickly and accurately each answer comes, and moves up only when the harder facts come easily. Subtraction joins in once addition is under way.

Teachers: it's free for classroom use, with no accounts and no ads. Put it on the board as a warm-up, or embed it on your class site so it's one click away for homework.

Questions

Is Sumtown really free?

Yes. The whole game plays free in your browser, with no signup, no ads and no time limit. All fourteen mini games are in it. An iPhone app is on its way, and you can read what it will add.

What math does it cover?

Addition and subtraction facts within 20, number bonds to 10 and 20, fact families, missing numbers (8 + ? = 13) and ten-frames. See every fact.

Does my child need to read?

No. Each question is read aloud in a recorded voice, with a speaker button to hear it again.

Does it save progress?

It remembers your best score and prizes on this device, in the browser. There are no accounts, so nothing leaves the device.

An app is on its way

We're building a Sumtown app for iPhone with the parts that need a real app: offline play for car rides, a town map that remembers how far your child got, and a parent report on every fact. Until then, the whole game is free right here.
