Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-11-06. The short version: we don't collect personal data from children or parents.

Who we are

Sumtown is made by Ingenuity Labs LLC. Questions: sumtown@ingenuitylabs.net.

Children

Sumtown is designed for children aged 4–8. We do not ask for names, emails, photos, locations or any other personal information, and children cannot create accounts or chat. There are no ads and no third-party advertising or tracking code in the game, the app or on this site.

What stays on the device

Game progress (scores, which facts have been practiced, time played each day, prizes collected and settings) is stored only on the device, in the browser's local storage or the app's storage. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes it. We can't see it.

Website analytics

The website and game use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and anonymous events (for example, “a worksheet was printed” or “a game was started”). It uses no cookies and does not identify or track individual visitors across sites. The app sends no analytics.

Purchases in the app

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts from Apple, along with the technical details any network request carries (such as app version, device type and IP address), not names or emails. This is the only network traffic the app itself makes.

Speech

Questions are read aloud from recordings that ship with the game. Nothing is ever recorded from the microphone.

Embedded games

If a teacher embeds Sumtown on a class website, the same rules apply: no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The page around the game is run by the school or teacher, and its own policy applies to that page.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we'll update the date above. Parents can email sumtown@ingenuitylabs.net with any question.
